Jack McDowell, who won the AL Cy Young in 1993, was criticized by White Sox fans because they thought his music career came ahead of the team. His band at the time toured with the Smithereens, and he's recorded with Jason Ringenberg in addition to his current "band," Stickfigure, which is mostly him playing everything.

I haven't heard the new stuff. The early 90s material struck me as an REM-wannabe, not horrible, not fantastic. I spent a lot of time during that period trying to convince baseball fans that McDowell was a decent musician, and the White Sox sucked.

>Honorable Mention: Wilt Chamerlain...he must have been a great musician.
>After all, by his own admission he was great at everything else.
