It's not just you who THINKS so, I'm sure, but you're wrong about Carlin
having "lost it." He still has what he always had; it's just that he had it
before everyone else, and he's been doing it for so long that it's not fresh
any more, which is not good for comedy. (Anybody remember Rick Moranis'
Carlin parodies on SCTV: "Why is there no blue food?")
Hi Drew, I honestly HAVE wondered if it's him or if it's that the times have
just changed so much that his material doesn't seem as fresh. I guess I
didn't express that well. I know he was innovative and don't disagree with
that at all. I loved him and recognize his importance to what he brought.
That was then, this is now. I just don't find his material very funny
anymore, maybe it's the changing times, maybe it's me, maybe it's Carlin or
maybe it's a combo platter of these things....
Just my opinion, Steve
