As I'm sitting here, listening to "Neo Wave," I'm led to wonder aloud, has
anyone heard anything else about the reports that the band was back in the
studio to record their third album? Here's the last thing about it posted
on the band's official website, dated Nov. 24, 2002:
Here is some news from James Broad about Silver Sun's upcoming 3rd album:
"We are now into negotiations about recording the new album. They seem to be
going well.
It is possible that Richard 1 will be back in the fold although this is
unconfirmed by himself at this time. R2 who can currently be seen doing
promo with BBMak should be OK to do it and I have yet to confront Paul with
the idea, although I'm not sure that he would object.
Hopefully it will be recorded & produced by Peter Woodroffe who recorded the
first versions of Pipsqueak and Why So Blue with us inbetween the two
albums. He's worked with Def Leppard amongst others and is a very nice man.
So far I can describe the sound as a kind of future-sounding Silver Sun.
More keyboards and unusual sounds & textures than before, kinda like 'Time'
by ELO. I think that Pipsqueak should be on there, as well as a potential
list including Poppin, Bubblegum, Soapbox, Garlic & many many more. It's
lining up to be a cracker. Let's hope that they give us enough cash to do
the business with it.
Jeff is gonna do the cover as well (he did all of the first album stuff as i
am sure you are aware)."
