You guys make it look easy. Only five bands....
I could say:
Beach Boys
Beatles
Stones
Yardbirds
Kinks,
but then what about Them and the Who...
But that doesn't take into account the music I heard before I ever
started buying records:
Chuck Berry
Bo Diddley
Patti Page..
Nat King Cole
and then what about those other 60's bands that you only heard about
after the fact:
Idle Race
Creation..
Then the later 60's bands
Cream
Hendrix
Beck
LZ
Procol
Country Joe and the Fish
Then there was the early 70s
Man
Family
King Crimson
Slade
T Rex
Wait wait, there was more stuff in the 70's
Soft Boys
Elvis
Rockpile
Clash
Buzzcocks
Cluster
Neu
and in the early 80's all I listened to was
The Young Marble Giants and
Comsat Angels
But then there was
REM
Flaming Lips
Sonic Youth
and some where the 90's came around
and it was GbV
that still ignores loads of most important bands like
Flamin Groovies
Young Fresh Fellows
Radio Birdman
Big Star
you see. I've been listening to music since I can remember, that would
be starting around '55. A lot of stuff has passed through these ears,
sometimes I think too much...bad Townshend paraphrase....
Lucky you if you if you can pin your problems on just five bands.
