OK, since nobody's shot down my Blondie suggestion yet, I'll nominate
two other possibly universally liked (if not loved) bands: Crowded House
and Cheap Trick, anyone?
In mental preparation for the Neil Finn/Rhett Miller show I'm seeing
next week, I just listened to all my Crowded House albums back to back
this morning after not having heard them much in a few years... damn,
that's a solid body of work. If you don't count b-sides and
greatest-hits addons, there's exactly one track I don't like. Cheap
Trick: well, certainly less consistent. But still.
I don't think I've ever heard the Wondermints, either. This seems really
unlikely, considering their hugeness in my former social circles - but
if I have heard them, I honestly can't remember. I may have to nominate
myself for Worst Audities Subscriber Ever, at this rate.
