Okay,

The slamming of Tim Finn will be answered!

First, Neil was maybe a better pop song constructor, and a more soothing
vocalist, like Colin Molding (but twice as prolific). However, what about
the concept of originality? Voice as well as lyrics, and at the time a
innovator, leader, in quirky pop songs.

When I hear Tim Finn I know within two notes! My top 20 favorite LP's
consisit of Sgt Pepper, Revolver, Kimmo My House, All Things Must Past, How
Dare You! (by 10CC). I consider Mental Notes (without Neil Finn, who is not
old enough to be in his big brother's band yet) to be epic, and as
emotionally moving their classic early 80's L.P.'s True Colors & Waiata.
Mental Notes is epic and stands alone in originality, at least if you're
crazy enough to like a songs where the main instrument (at least during the
second half) are spoons! Anyone can do a Beatles imitation straight, just
ask Todd Rundgren and the Spongetones. At least Tim and the boys, should be
credited with taking it down another street, dead end or not.

In good health, Casey
