While many LPs have been reissued as CDs (some of which didn't really deserve
to be), there are still many which criminally are still not available, and one
wonders if they ever will be. Like many other people, I've transferred some
of them to CDR. For certain outstanding LPs, I've spent the time to remove
not only all audible (and barely audible) defects that came from the vinyl,
but also other defects that come from the recording process. The latter
includes such things as overly loud lisps, more generally known as ess's
(which I remove manually, since I don't trust automatic algorithms).

Anyway, I recently did such a transfer for the LP by the Act "Too Late at 20"
from 1981, since I couldn't find any clues on the internet that this would
ever be reissued on CD. Fortunately, the production sound on this LP is
exceptionally bright compared to other LPs from the same era, so that a CDR
transfer of it sounds really crisp. Unfortunately, this sort of production
causes unintentional noises to be heard very well, and seems to have caused
lots of loud lisps, which sometimes ruin the cool smooth vocals. After many
weeks, I finally finished it, and in the process I realized that this LP is
even better than I original thought, an almost perfect album from every angle.
Cool vocals and lyrics, great guitar sound, but especially good harmonizing
vocals, something which is missing from so many other albums from the same
era. How this LP disappeared, even given great reviews, is beyond me, unless
it was put out by a clueless label that didn't know how to market it.

Anyway, anyone interested in sampling this album, see here:

(P.s. I find the first track a bit too bit laid back for the opening track,
perhaps their only mistep. The 2nd song would have made a much opener).
