I can't point to one specific citation where either Tim or Neil pointed who
contributed what to the tune, so if someone has any info on it, we can have
a definitive answer. I do know for sure that it was one of the tracks for
the original aborted Finn Brothers project, co-written by the siblings.
IMO, the melody of the song is more of a Tim melody than a Neil melody,
specifically in the verses -- it seems to me that the bridge from the verse
to the chorus is more Neil-like and the chorus is a toss up.
As far as my comment on Miles and Kelly being reductive -- Tim Finn has been
writing songs for nearly 30 years, and it seemed their comments focused on a
relatively narrow portion of his work. I'm not saying everything he's done
is great, or that everyone has to like him, but I would say that he written
songs in different styles throughout his career, so it's tough to evaluate
him based on a certain batch of songs.
