power-pop band beyond our own little cult anymore.

Even if every person on this list liked the same band it wouldn't be a spit
in the ocean unless they all actively did something about it. And if I found
myself on a list where EVERYONE raved about the same band I'd be suspicious.
I guarantee you there are Auditeers who don't like The Beatles, or at least
think they're overrated or archaic in light of what they want to hear today.
I'm sure The Rosenbergs will soldier on either way, and frankly I wish any
band success whether I like their music or not. Tough way to make a living
and I respect those who try.

While I don't care for negativity for negativity's sake, I see nothing wrong
with someone responding to a thread about a band expressing that they didn't
like it (and why), especially if that person often expresses their opinions
about what they _like_ (and why). This isn't a support group for the musical
collective and we ARE all different, which is what makes this list better
than most band-fan lists where not kissing the star's ass is a sacrilege and
an express ticket to Hell. Any artist who expects 100% support is so deluded
in the simple things of life that survival in the industry will be way
beyond their grasp anyway.

I'd much rather hear someone state that they were disappointed in Band X
once or twice than hear someone crow about Band Y's genius a hundred times
like the first ninety-nine huzzahs suddenly vanished from our collective
consciousness. Congratulations, groupie. We all love certain bands. Get that
damned lampshade off your head and party like an adult. :)

cheers
b
