Someone will probably have a fit about this because it's french cuisine
(please delete now if that's you), but given our just-ended spate of
URGENT ASSISTANCE messages, and tonight's dinner, I couldn't resist
passing this along. It's perfect.

. I'm posting only the first eight ingredients so you can see if you
want to read it or not. It gets better.
3 cups Burgundy wine
2 tablespoons brandy
2 onions, thinly sliced
2 carrots, chopped
1 sprig fresh parsley
1 bay leaf
1 clove garlic, crushed
10 whole black peppercorns
