Well, since you asked - and this will be my only post on the subject - I
just don't get The Shazam. (Cue the clackity-clack of many keyboards typing
flame replies.) And it's not for lack of trying. I got the first CD - not
melodic enough for me. I later heard their contribution to the Jeff Lynne
tribute and thought "Hey, these guys sound damn good." Then last year I saw
them at Ch-IPO. I returned to my original thought of not melodic enough,
and added POSEURS to the description as they spent their performance trying
to be rock stars, after which The Elvis Brothers came on and blew them out
of the water (even though the E-Bros hadn't played together in several
years). Okay, they might rock, but not MY cup of sulphuric acid, and when
the stage level of the guitar amps overtakes the vocals in the P.A. I tend
to have a problem, especially if I don't know the songs in the first place.
However, I have been completely fine with anyone else liking them, and have
not spoken of my dislike until now, and henceforth do not intend to discuss
it again...but I reiterate "YOU ASKED." Anyone have any less respect for my
opinion now? (If so, bite me, you shallow bastard...)
