John B and Drew wrote of this CD:

"Dumb, Gifted and Beautiful" is one of my fave "lost" records of the '90s.
IMO, this one could have been a smash, given the right promotion, but I
think
the label (Ardent) was going belly up at the time. It rocks pretty hard
(top
moments are "You're All Forgiven" and "Surrounded"), but never at the
expense
of melody. The title track---a sarcastic-yet-pretty ballad---is one of my
fave tunes of the '90s.

John B.

DUMB, GIFTED AND BEAUTIFUL was one of the records that re-introduced me to
power pop in 1997, after several years in which I wandered in other genres
and was even starting to lose interest in pop music in general, like most
other guys my age. It's possible I never would have heard about D,G & B if
"You're All Forgiven" had not appeared on Rhino's POPTOPIA 90's comp --which
is THE record that woke me up to great new stuff and eventually led me right
here to Audities, thanks to the "Recommended Reading" list in the liner
notes. (They touted NotLame Records and several fanzines, including the
print precursor to this list.)
