The Kilborn show has done this before...I remember once seeing
Tenacious D. perform on the show, and they turned it into a gag. They
bragged about this amazing new epic-length song they had written, and
how the Kilborn audience was going to hear the exciting world
premiere, etc. etc. Then they started playing, and after a minute or
so, the program abruptly cut to golf highlights. Then when the show
returned, the two were "just finishing" the song with some
faux-monstrous flourish. Cute.
I saw the Wondermints appearance...'twas OK. Darian's voice sounded a
little raw and tired. Actually, the talkshow performance o' the night
was Interpol on the Carson Daly show, shortly afterwards!
