Hello auditeers,
Stewart got the jump on me, as I was waiting for the new server to begin
compiling the best songs of 2002. This list is not ranked, if a song is in
your top five, it gets a point. I add a star if a song was not in a top 5
list, but was mentioned in an "other songs I liked" capacity. This list is
of the top 5 "power pop" songs that you heard in 2002. One aspect of this
list that differs from Mike's CD list is that it can highlight great songs
that were on otherwise mediocre discs. And it lets me know what great POWER
POP tunes are out there to find.
Here are the guidelines. Just send your list to mikenrox@wmis.net or
the audities list. The deadline will be February 28th. Send your top FIVE
songs. This will insure that the tunes we list are only the most moving,
catchy, and unforgettable songs we heard. Since I don't anticipate much
overlap, the list will serve mainly as an eye opener for what's out there as
opposed to a genuine ranked-and-compiled Top 100.
Please include the Cut, the Artist and the Album for each song. Start
narrowing down the field. I look forward to receiving your choices.
