In this episode the orthodontist tells Shirley that Laurie (Susan Dey) has to wear braces for six months. Laurie is ashamed of her (fake) braces and starts talking into her hand. Then her braces are picking up radio signals coming from a boy's transistor radio. At the end the doctor tells Laurie that he will remove the braces and give her a retainer or night brace.
